Hello and welcome to Campaigns 201! Here we'll walk through some of the more advanced features of campaign builder. First thing’s first: you’ll need to be an admin user to use these features. You can tell if you’re an admin user by looking in the hamburger menu for the “Administration” section. If you don’t see this, you have not been configured as an admin. Please reach out to your main POC for Fullmeasure, or AM in case that is you, to give you admin credentials.
We're going to skip most of the basics here and just go through 4 new items that you see on your form now that you are an admin.
- URL link
- New send from options
- New timing options
When creating a campaign, you can add a URL link as a separate line item. In SMS, this will take the URL out of the content of the message to send separately. In the mobile app, if you have in app messaging enabled, this link will appear next to the rest of the in app message content.
You can create html for "more" content in your mobile app message. This only applies to in app messages, this does not apply to text messages. When the student receives their message, they'll see a link to more content at the bottom. These act like feed cards, where you can add visual content for users to interact with. The campaign's page gives you a preview of how the html with render on a phone.
Send from options
You now have a variety of options of from where/whom to send your message.
- You can select any advisor in the institution to send the message from
- Assigned advisor
- This will send the message from each student's assigned advisor
- If the student does not have an assigned advisor, it will default to send from the admissions department
- You can send from the admissions department
- For broadcast messages, or messages where you want to share the burden of responding, you can send from the department where everyone has access to those messages
You have 3 new timing options to send messages. These are for messages where the intention is to continually send out new messages based on audience updates, not on one off messages. These are-
- Minutely (think: every minute)
if you wanted to set up a campaign to run every day at 12pm between January 15th and May 15th, you could create a daily campaign. Once you activate this campaign, our system will look to see who the new people in the audience are each day and send the message to them. We will only send messages to the new people everyday, we won't send the same message each day to everyone in that audience. Use case: You want to set up a bill notification reminder to go out every day to only the relevant people. You have a bill notification audience coming across on your integration that updates each day. You can create a daily campaign that goes out every day at noon to let those students know they have a bill due.
You can apply this same principle to hourly and minutely campaigns.
