As a standard practice, the FM Platform will send an opt-out message to all students who are receiving an automated campaign message for the first time.
The opt-out message includes federally required language around how to stop receiving messages ("Reply STOP to cancel"). Phrases that will automatically mark students as "Do Not Text" include: stop, cancel, remove, opt out, quit, and unsubscribe. We have also added several additional opt-out phrases. If a user requests to be opted out without using one of the pre-defined opt-out phrases, staff users can manually mark them as "Do Not Text" in the interface.
Our templated opt-out phrases follow one of these formats
"Hello from [School Name]! Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel."
"Discover [School Name]! Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel."
This covers our legal bases, which are:
- Inform the recipient of who the message is coming from
- Let them know that message and data rates may apply
- Teach the recipient how to unsubscribe from messages
You can customize this message in the interface, provided it follows the guidelines above and stays below 160 characters.
Full Measure works to stay in compliance with all texting guidelines. For additional questions about opt-out requirements or to discuss any concerns, please contact ClientServices@fullmeasure.io.
💡 Full Measure recommends as a best practice that all institutions gather opt-in consent on RFIs and applications if they are not already.
